Before a child starts to speak they start to babble. As if a shape was slowly appearing from the dark, gaining more and more contour, the sounds become more and more accurate. babytalk, babytype typeface experiment inspired by the process of early speech development and language acquisition. It is an experimental attempt to visually represent the process of going from abstract vocalizations through familiar intonations towards intelligible words and sentences. The font is part of an ongoing artistic research process, which, besides the letters, consists of series of drawings, ceramics and essays.
